The Salesian presence is incomplete without acknowledging the presence of Our Lady. Typical of all salesian boardings that organise the Marian Nite, Don Bosco Oratory has over a decade now organised the Youth Marian Day. It is an event dedicated for the youth and encourages the youth to come close to Mary in a youthful manner. This event is organised close to the feast of the Nativity of Mary and was held on the 11th of September at the Jubilee Indoor hall at Don Bosco Panjim. Over a 100 youth were present from the various parishes, and were kept engaged in every moment of the event.
The Day began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Avin Carvalho, and also the newly appointed councillor of the Salesian Province of Panjim. With a few common mixers to get the young together, there were a host of activities organised both testing their creative minds and talents. The youth were divided in ten teams each with a special title of our lady, and the specific picture depicting the title.
The event was coordinated by the youth of the Oratory. Besides the host of speed games on Our Lady, the youth were engaged in Clay moulding, composing a hymn to Our Lady, etc.
The event concluded with the prize distribution and a sumptuous lunch. The participants were thrilled to have learnt a lot on the life of Our Blessed Mother.
